Toxicity is one of the two causes of all disease. Yet almost every American is now in toxic overload!

This toxic overload accumulates from many different and often seemingly innocent sources -- things that, until I got sick myself, I didn't think about twice, like deodorant.

Well, I think about them a lot now! I had to, to get well. And I think about them a lot because I've made it my business to provide safe, non-toxic yet effective alternatives to people like you.

Disease doesn't just happen. Health is the product of many small choices that we make every day. Some choices serve cellular health, while others lead to cellular malfunction and down a pathway to disease and even death.

Most deodorants are the source of an amazing array of toxins, many of them quite deadly. But it's possible to choose a deodorant that's both safe and effective instead!

My upcoming Sept/Oct newsletter Beyond Health News will contain information on aluminum toxicity. We are exposed to aluminum in cookware, foil, antacids and other OTC drugs, processed food, vaccinations and, as I mentioned last week, in public tap water. We are getting far more than our bodies can handle, and it is contributing to our current epidemic of degenerative brain disorders -- Alzheimer's, Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS), Parkinson's Disease, etc. Autopsies performed on Alzheimer's patients found four times the amount of aluminum considered normal in their brain cells, and, as I mentioned last week, when aluminum is combined with fluoride it causes brain cell death.

Deodorants contribute to our aluminum burden. Aluminum compounds are used to check bacterial growth and prevent perspiration. (Preventing perspiration is not a good idea, and it has nothing to do with eliminating odor, which comes from the bacteria.)

Using aluminum-free deodorants is like jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Most of these contain triclosan, a hormone-disrupting toxin linked with liver damage, eye and skin irritations, impaired thyroid function and the deaths of fish and other wildlife when it pollutes our waterways. Triclosan accumulates in the liver, lungs and kidneys to toxic levels and has been found in 3 of every 5 samples of breast milk from nursing mothers, posing a threat to fetal and childhood development.

Deodorants also contain a variety of other toxic chemicals including propylene glycol, a neurotoxin which may cause kidney and liver damage. It is a suspected carcinogen and can cause contact dermatitis, enlarged sweat glands, cysts and lung and throat irritations. Parabens are preservatives derived from the highly toxic toluene. They act like estrogens and have been linked with breast cancer. BHT and formaldehyde, other preservatives, are suspected carcinogens. Phthalates are endocrine disrupters that lower testosterone and thyroid activity. (Hypothyroidism is another epidemic today, especially among women.)

These are only some of the toxins commonly found in deodorants.
Finding a Safe and Effective Deodorant

It didn't take long to reject the deodorants found in drugstores and supermarkets. In fact there wasn't a single one that didn't contain one or more egregiously bad toxin.

And I quickly dismissed the crystal rocks -- which contain as much aluminum as drugstore brands, even though, out of ignorance, they will tell you differently.

In the alternative market, I found an array of herbal deodorants, all of them attractive in one way or another. However many were rejected for containing questionable chemicals and preservatives. Of those that remained, most were ineffective.

In the end I managed to find two that worked well, and I began selling them. However very quickly I started getting feedback from my customers; too many of them were getting allergic reactions!

Back to work I went, calling contacts in the industry and searching the literature. And eventually I hit pay dirt: the deodorant we carry today.

When I finally found IndiuMagic, I fell in love with it for its simple and ingenious concept.

IndiuMagic has only two ingredients: indium sulfate and water. It does not smell, will not stain and is safe enough to be approved by the FDA for oral use.

Body odor is caused by bacterial growth on the skin. These bacteria need water to thrive and multiply. IndiuMagic contains a salt of the element Indium that increases the surface tension of the water on the skin, making it difficult for the bacteria to use that water. This inhibits odor-causing bacterial growth.
