Meet Dean

Dean was born and raised in Central Connecticut. After college and graduate school he worked as a technology manager and consultant in the Northeast. Dean traveled frequently to Miami during that time, and in 2005 he and his wife Lisa (while on their honeymoon) decided to permanently relocate here.

The journey into politics began for Dean during the presidential primary season in 2007. As a campaign volunteer he became deeply concerned with Tallahassee’s management of the state’s finances. He recognized that years of booming real estate and overly optimistic growth projections had led to unsustainable increases in spending. In 2008, Dean launched a campaign of his own as a candidate for the State Senate in District 35.

Dean’s campaign for Florida State House District 107 is motivated by the same issues that led him to run in 2008: property tax reform, reliable/affordable healthcare, education reform, environmentally-conscious development, creating a competitive business climate for South Florida, and protecting the equal rights of individuals.

As a member of the State House, Dean will represent the interests of all the communities that add to the vibrancy and diversity of Miami. From the cigar shops of Little Havana to the world-famous restaurants of South Beach, he loves his adopted home. Though he knows times are tough, he has faith that the natural beauty and the culture of South Florida will continue to attract tourists and new residents to the region.

Dean and Lisa share their home in Miami with their dog Caesar. Dean currently is part owner in a boat brokerage and Lisa works in sales.
